Develop a current resume and create a formal cover letter for a position for which you would like to apply. Create both the cover letter and resume using a professionally accepted format provided on the Resume-Resources website, located in the topic Resources.
Include the following;
- Resume Detail your overall education, credentials, and professional experience, such as licenses, earned degrees, certifications, professional experiences, previous positions held, membership in professional organizations, publications, and skills.
Write a one-page double spaced introductory cover letter in which you explain your professional objectives, professional interests, and strengths as an applicant.

Registered nurses in different areas of specialty play critical roles in patient care provision to help patients attain quality outcomes. My name is Bernadette Nneji, a registered nurse working in the medical surgical area of my present workplace, Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
As a medical surgical nurse (Med-Surg), I work with diverse patient populations to deliver quality care based on evidence and most current research tends in collaboration with all providers. Working in the med-surgical unit allows me to nurture professional attributes, acquire and develop appropriate skills, and establish long-term and sustainable approaches to patient provision, especially inter-professional collaboration and interdisciplinary teams.
My professional objectives as a nurse include attaining the highest level of education preparation, growing my career to the highest possible achievement, and collaborating with health provider and medical practitioners to deliver quality patient care while working with diverse patients in different care environments, comprising of acute care and those dealing with chronic conditions like diabetes and stroke.
My professional interests include working closely and collaboratively with other professionals to deliver quality care, enhancing the nursing practice and interventions, especially as an advanced nurse with leadership specialty, and investing more time in research on a host of nursing and health issues like the deployment of technology and use of evidence-based practice (EBP) interventions to improve quality of care in diverse nursing practice settings.
I possess different strengths that include experience spanning over ten years in different care settings and healthcare systems, beginning with Nigeria and now the U.S. and New Mexico state’s system. Dealing with and embracing diversity is a core strength as it allows me to embrace and use culturally-sensitive interventions and incorporate patient values, practices and preferences that align with care interventions and lead to quality care outcomes.
I possess effective skills like interpersonal, analytical and critical and believe in innovative ideas to enhance care delivery. I am team player and flexible as reflected in my resume with an award from my current employer. I believe that I possess the right skills and have a positive attitude toward working in diverse care environment with the focus of attaining set organizational goals and complying with existing policies, regulations, and best practices in care delivery.
